Terms
Last updated: 28 October 2026
These terms apply when you use the OCF Institute website (onchainfinanceinstitute.com), the member platform (app.onchainfinanceinstitute.com), or buy a course from us. Please read them. If you do not agree, do not use our services.
1. Who we are
OCF Institute (also called Onchain Finance Institute) is run by Build On Story LLC, a company registered in Wyoming, USA. Our address is 1309 Coffeen Avenue Suite 11511, Sheridan, Wyoming 82801, USA. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Build On Story LLC. "You" means the person using our services.
Contact: hello@onchainfinanceinstitute.com.
2. What we offer
- Self-paced online courses that you buy once. We do not sell subscriptions.
- A member platform with a community, member directory, job board, events and workshops.
- Live online workshops, some run with partner companies.
- Free content, such as the Free Class, articles and tools pages.
Our courses and workshops are for education only. They are not accounting, tax, legal, audit or investment advice. Check any decision with a qualified adviser who knows your situation. Digital asset rules change often. We work to keep content current, but we cannot promise every lesson reflects the latest rule on the day you watch it.
3. Your account
- You must be 18 or older to use our services.
- Give us true and current details. Keep your password and sign-in links private.
- Your account is for you alone. Do not share your login or let others use your course access.
- Tell us straight away at hello@onchainfinanceinstitute.com if you think someone else has used your account.
Membership applications. To join the community, you apply. A member of our team reviews every application and makes every approval or decline decision. An AI tool helps us sort applications, but it never makes the decision. If we decline your application, you can still browse the platform, use free content and buy courses. You can ask us to look at your application again.
4. Buying a course
- Prices are shown on the course page and at checkout, in US dollars (USD). Taxes, where they apply, are shown at checkout.
- Every purchase is a one-time payment. We do not charge you again unless you buy something else.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card details.
- Offers, such as a welcome discount, have the conditions stated with the offer (for example, how long it lasts). Unless the offer says otherwise, you can use one offer per purchase.
- Your contract with us starts when your payment goes through. We then email you to confirm your access.
5. Immediate access and no refunds
Our courses are self-paced. You get access to the whole course as soon as you pay.
Your 14-day right to cancel (UK and EU buyers). If you live in the UK or the EU, the law normally gives you 14 days to cancel an online purchase. For digital content you can use straight away, that right ends once access starts, if you agree to it. At checkout we ask you to confirm two things:
- You want access to the course immediately.
- You understand that you lose your 14-day right to cancel once access starts.
We confirm this in the email that tells you your access is active. Because access starts at purchase, you cannot cancel or get a refund for a change of mind.
No refunds. We do not give refunds once you have bought a course. This applies to buyers everywhere.
Your legal rights still apply. This does not affect your rights if a course is faulty, does not work, or is not as described. If that happens, write to hello@onchainfinanceinstitute.com. We will first try to fix the problem. If we cannot fix it within a reasonable time, we will give you a full or partial refund, as the law requires where you live.
6. What "lifetime access" means
When you buy a course, you keep access to it for as long as OCF Institute runs its platform. This is what we mean by "lifetime access".
- If we retire a course, you keep access to it. You can still finish it and claim your certificate. We may stop selling it to new buyers and stop updating it.
- If we close the platform or the company, we will email you a link to download all the content of the courses you bought. You will have at least 90 days to download it before the link and the platform close.
- Some courses include access to a third-party tool or service (for example, partner software). That access is given by the partner under its own terms. It may end or change even while your course access continues. The course page says when this applies.
- We may suspend access for a short time for maintenance or security.
7. Course updates
We keep course materials up to date with the digital asset industry.
- We update materials as soon as we can after relevant accounting standards, laws or rulings change.
- We review every course at least every two years.
- Subject-matter experts write and review the content.
- We may change, reorder, replace or add lessons, quizzes and resources. We will not make changes that leave you with a course that is materially less than the one you bought. If we do, you can contact us under section 5.
8. Course information, certificates and credits
- Each course page describes what the course covers, the knowledge level, any prerequisites or advance preparation, and how it is delivered.
- You get a certificate of completion when you finish all the requirements shown in the course (for example, lessons and quizzes).
- CPE and CPD credits. A course or workshop carries CPE or CPD credit only if its page says so, with the number of credits and the body that approved it. If a page does not say so, the course or workshop does not carry formal credit. Whether a credit counts towards your own requirements is decided by your licensing body or professional body, not by us.
- NASBA CPE. Build On Story LLC is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. Boards of Accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be submitted to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors through its website: www.nasbaregistry.org.
- NASBA CPE credit is currently offered only for eligible live online workshops. Our self-paced courses do not currently carry NASBA CPE credit.
9. Live workshops
- Workshop dates, times, speakers and topics are shown on the workshop page. We may change or cancel a workshop. If we do, we will tell registered attendees by email or on the platform. If we cancel a workshop you paid for and do not offer a new date, we refund what you paid for it.
- Workshops are recorded. Recordings and their transcripts are available to members on the platform, including through AI assistants members connect. If you speak, turn on your camera or post in the chat, you may appear in the recording. If you do not want to appear, keep your camera and microphone off and do not use the chat.
- Some workshops are run with a partner company. We do not share your name or email address with workshop partners.
- If a workshop offers CPE or CPD credit, you must attend live and meet the attendance and participation rules shown for that workshop to receive it. Watching a recording later does not earn CPE credit.
- These terms also apply to in-person events, together with any details shown on the event page.
10. Using our content
All courses, videos, transcripts, slides, quizzes, workshop recordings and other materials belong to us or to the people who license them to us.
When you buy a course or access a workshop, we give you a personal, non-transferable right to use it for your own learning. You may not:
- copy, download, record, share, sell, resell or republish any course or workshop content, in whole or in part, unless we provide a download feature for that item;
- share your login or course access with anyone else, including colleagues;
- use our content to teach or train others, or to build a competing course;
- put our content into a public or shared AI tool, dataset or model, or use automated tools to scrape or bulk-download the platform.
AI assistant connectors. You may connect an AI assistant (such as Claude) to your account. What it retrieves is for your personal study only. The rules above still apply to anything it returns.
Company or team purchases need a separate agreement with us. Write to hello@onchainfinanceinstitute.com.
11. Community rules
When you post in the community, the directory, the job board or a workshop chat:
- be respectful and professional;
- do not post anything illegal, misleading, harassing, discriminatory or that you do not have the right to share;
- do not post spam or unsolicited promotion, or collect other members' details for marketing;
- do not share other members' personal data or posts outside the platform without their permission;
- do not give personalised investment advice or promote financial products in a way that breaks the law.
You keep ownership of what you post. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and share it on our services, including with other members' connected AI assistants, as described in our Privacy Policy. This licence ends when you delete the post or your account, except for copies other members already saw or saved.
We may remove content or suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these rules. If we close an account for that reason, you may lose access to courses you bought. We will tell you why, and you can ask us to review the decision.
12. Third-party links and tools
Our site and platform link to other companies' websites, tools and offers. We do not control them and are not responsible for them. We do not earn a commission or any other benefit from the tool deals we list.
13. Our responsibility to you
- We provide our services with reasonable care and skill.
- We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, for business losses (such as lost profit, revenue or opportunity), or for decisions you make based on our content.
- Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 100 if you paid us nothing.
- Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer, including your rights if digital content is faulty or damages your device.
- We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.
14. Complaints
Send any complaint about our courses, workshops or services to hello@onchainfinanceinstitute.com. We will reply within 10 business days and aim to resolve it within 30 days.
Complaints about our CPE programs can also go to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors at www.nasbaregistry.org.
Privacy complaints go to hello@onchainfinanceinstitute.com, as set out in our Privacy Policy.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with a new date. If a change is important, we will email members before it takes effect. Changes do not reduce what you already bought: the access, refund and lifetime terms in force when you bought a course keep applying to that purchase, unless a change is better for you.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA. Disputes go to the courts of that state.
If you are a consumer living in the UK or the EU, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your country, and you can bring a claim in the courts where you live.
17. General
- If any part of these terms is found invalid, the rest still applies.
- We may transfer our rights and duties under these terms to another company if our business is sold or reorganised. Your rights under these terms will not be reduced. You may not transfer your course access to someone else.
- If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- These terms and our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about our services.
